The Sparkman and Stephen (S & S) designed Defiance 30s  were hugely popular and very competitive half tonners back in the day and have gone on to be great little family cruising yachts too. They perform well in all conditions and haver a good amount of liveable space for weekends away. Solidly built by Savages in Williamstown and strongly rigged, they enjoy a well deserved reputation as excellent sea boats

Scallywag's claim to fame is that she finished Third Overall on handicap in the 1981 Sydney to Hobart classic  (listed as Scallywag SS because there was a bigger boat also called Scallywag in the same race) so there's a bit of ocean racing history that comes with this yacht.

This Defiance 30 has spent many years as a fun club racer but now needs some refurbishment and her standing rigging will require replacement but she has excellent bones. Engine has been overhauled and is in good running order. An inexpensive way to go sailing and a worthwhile project to bring her back to past glory. Has 4 sails, can sleep up to 7. Last slipped and anti-fouled in February 2021.
