DESCRIPTION
1984 Bayfield 40 now for sale exclusively with DBY Boat Sales.
Macushla is a very tidy Bayfield 40 ketch that has just arrived from the Pacific.
Fully imported into Australia, but completely ready to sail away again with everything you could possibly need right down to 4 year old standing rigging, 5 solar panels totalling 600 Watts, a 4 man liferaft, and even a watermaker.
She was antifouled in March 2022, and her 52hp Westerbeke diesel engine was given a full and thorough service in May 2022.
Designed by H. Ted Gozzard and built at his Bayfield Boatyard in Ontario, Canada, the Bayfield 40' is a classic short-handed passage maker with a unique open plan layout.
An easily handled cutter rigged ketch (with both headsails on furlers) with a length on deck of 40ft and length overall including her bowsprit of 45ft 6 inches.
The open plan layout is ideal for a cruising couple with two doubles aft that can be privatised... plus the dinette converts to another oversized double.
The 12-foot beam allows for a spacious interior featuring a Nav Station to fit full size charts, a large efficient galley, plus an enormous dinette. Forward is a fully enclosed bathroom with separate shower access and even a shallow bath (ideal for kids).
