DESCRIPTION
If there is a better Beneteau Sense 50 anywhere in Australia we would be very surprised indeed.
Mia 3 was built and launched in 2012 as the demonstrator boat for the Western Australian Beneteau agent, then sold to her current owners in Hamilton Island in 2017. Since then they have spared no expense improving and maintaining her in their 6 years of loving ownership.
From the design board of Naval Architects Berret Racoupeau Yacht Design, with interior design by Nauta Design the Sense 50 is in Beneteau’s words: “A modern sailing yacht with a completely innovative concept”, and “From stern to bow, she adds one surprise to another in her organization of life on board. For cruising and well-being, simplicity and aesthetics are the watchwords”.
In Mia 3’s case that concept has only been enhanced since her arrival in Pittwater with a custom entertainer’s cockpit and gloss varnished teak table that seats 16, under an excellent bimini and linking sheet (and side sheets) to keep the Summer sun at bay. And the Starboard half of the cockpit table electrically lowers to make a double bed in the cockpit.
In 2018 a new Leisurefurl boom (and a boom brake) were added, as well as a new mainsail, and in 2019 a new self tacking working jib was fitted along with a furling Code 0 for easy offwind sailing. As well she has a Gennaker and a staysail both of which have seen very little use, and a carbon fibre pole for the jib.
She is equipped with a bowthruster as well as the Dock&Go system although her owner has not found that necessary at all, the boat is just so easy to manage.
Always kept in a marina berth, and washed, polished and coddled regularly including a slip, antifoul and polish in November 2022. Her teak decks were carefully serviced at the same time – the caulking was trimmed level and the teak was lightly sanded, and having now greyed off again it presents beautifully.
Her 70hp Yanmar diesel with it’s 3 blade feathering folding prop have just 480 hours on them showing her light, local Pittwater use. She is equipped with 400 W of solar panels, a wind generator, a 5 kVA Onan generator, a dishwasher, watermaker, and reverse cycle air conditioning, a hideaway satellite Foxtel TV set in the saloon (and another Foxtel satellite TV in the Master cabin), a satellite telephone, and even a 3.1m Highfield RIB and a 9 hp Yamaha 4 stroke outboard on davits, this boat truly lacks for nothing, and one look at our photo’s will show you her levels of maintenance and care.
Her owners are simply finding they are travelling more and more, and are downsizing to a smaller power boat.
Exclusively for sale with DBY Boat Sales on Pittwater, comeand see Mia 3 for yourself, she is an absolute beauty and ready for not just the Summer ahead, but literally for this weekend.
