'Moana Roa' - Polynesian for 'Everlasting Ocean', has always been privately owned and never chartered.
She was built in France in 2002 and sailed across the Atlantic to the Caribbean in 2004 where she was sailed during the sailing season for 8 years until purchased by her current owners.
She then spent her final year in the Caribbean in 2013, where she was extensively refitted before setting off across the Pacific in 2014, arriving in Australia in November 2014 after an idyllic cruise.
'Moana Roa' was commissioned with serious cruising in mind, including a larger, stronger mast than the standard version, which included a third spreader and extra set of diamonds.
Oversize Lewmar Genoa winches (54 instead of 50) were fitted, as well as the mainsheet traveler winch (44 instead of 30). A rigid fiberglass footbridge was designed to safely access the boom and stack pack.
To never have to worry about power a 6.5KW Kohler diesel generator was added, as well as a 90 Amp Mastervolt alternator on stbd. engine.
As the owners cruising with their young family, safety at sea was further increased by securing the forward section of the hull with watertight bulkheads.

All the engineering and shipwright work was carried out by highly qualified professionals working in relation with Fontaine Pajot to ensure a flawless finish in accordance with the manufacturer's design.
A catwalk with two separate trampolines (new 2013) stiffens the forward section, with an anchor chain track to the bow, bowsprit and furling Genaker.
