'POPPY" is in Fiji. A perfect start for new adventures in Pacific Ocean. Easy access via Nadi International Airport.

'POPPY' is a gorgeous looking vessel and well designed blue-water cruiser, perfect for either roaming around the world or relaxing on anchor near her home port. Her sails are in good condition and engine is turn key. The timeless design details makes her comfort and ready to sail with ease for many years. Her interior is well laid-out for live aboard and extended cruising for a couple with crew or family. Her current owners, a Danish family with 4 children have taken beautiful care of her and sailed her extensively through the Pacific from Tahiti to Fiji. Her exterior, hull, deck and cockpit are spotless. Inside her timber work is in perfect condition and is not stained or damaged by life in the tropics. The leather upholstery inside and in the cockpit is a little tired and faded, but refreshing these items is cheaply and easily done in Fiji at your own taste. She sails comfortably, quickly and and is easy to handle alone or as a couple.

The surprisingly spacious cockpit at the back of the boat has two small doors to the bathing platform and at big Bimini which gives shelter and comfort when needed. Everything can be handled from the cockpit by one or two people due to the electrical winches, well laid-out rope organisers and navigational equipment.

Below the cockpit are two double cabins with removable partition to create one ‘king- size’ bed that measures 1.80m (6ft) by 2 m (8ft), perfect for a couple to sleep in space and comfort with one door leading to a large head / shower area and another door leading to the galley and salon.

The main salon is perfectly proportioned and feel like what you would expect on a much larger vessel. It is open and airy and allows direct access to the galley, navigation area and have many roomy cupboards. The many hatches and windows in the saloon makes this space very light and well ventilated.

The foldable table in the saloon is a perfect place to relax and dine - and can be moved down by a button to make a large daybed avaliable in front of the big TV-screen mounted on the bulkhead.

The chart table has plenty of space for computers, navigation and not surprisingly charts.

The galley provides abundant storage space, a good stove / oven and a fridge with separate freezer.

On anchor 'POPPY' makes a great floating home. The 1040W of solar panels provides all normal energy requirements, as well as a Maxprop wind generator. There is sufficient power to keep both fridge and separate freezer running, along with the usual demands from iPads, computers and lighting which were required for this family of 6.

Underway she comes alive, with excellent performance and a stable, sea- worthy proportions of both sail, engine and hull. She is happiest on a broad reach and comfortably ticked off 120nm per day crossing the Pacific sailing conservatively. Upwind she also makes great progress and points well.

When filming and photographing 'POPPY' a few days ago (July 15th 2019) she effortlessly achieved 8-9 knots in 10-15 knots of wind on a close reach.

The easy quick reef-by button-activated control makes off-shore sailing with heavy gusts comfortable and safe and any unexpected waves coming down the deck are reflected by the big spray-hood.

Philippe Briand recalls: “I have always tried to give Jeanneau designs for cruising boats the benefit from developments in racing that are useful for cruising.” and this is highly visible on POPPY in all aspects of sailing, while still providing a safe and incredibly comfortable platform out at sea.

'POPPY' has the elegance, performance and harmony that is associated with the boats designed by Philippe Briand. The work of Philippe Briand has for a very long time been focused on sailboat design and marked by a joyfully eclectic character, because the architect has designed race boats of every size and style. Philippe Briand has also designed many yachts for cruising both big and small, including some of the biggest and most elegant sailboats in the world. In all, more than 12,000 boats have left his drafting table, the great majority of which are production boat models.

The 2006 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 45 has a rigged deck stepped mast monohull sail auxiliary hand molded fiberglass reinforced plastic hull, round bilge, fin keel to bulb, free hung spade rudder, raised cabin deck with diesel auxiliary and Poppy is in very good condition with both respect to structural integrity and general operation of machinery, mechanical, electrical, electronic and plumbing equipment onboard.
Linear and partial transverse bulkheads provide integral support suitable type for offshore sailing. Jeanneau Sun Odysseys have sailed all around the world have long established their reputation as a fast, safe and reliable yacht for Atlantic and Pacific crossings and extensive offshore sailing. For this reason, it is a favourite of families such as 'POPPY's, an absolutely lovely Danish family with 4 children from 14 to 2 years old, who put safety and comfort first when seeking a little home on the water that could take them across the Pacific.

'POPPY's hull is blue with a lovely gold boot top, decks white with blue canvas dodger and Biminis. The interior is in good original condition, with very few marks from the years of use. The only noticeable wear and tear is in the leather upholstery in the salon and cockpit, which has faded and lost its tightness. The bilges are dry and very clean. There are no lingering holding tank odours, no mould/mildew present.

"We are a family of 6 from Denmark who has went on our life dream adventure in the Pacific Ocean on this dark blue beautiful cruising boat. Poppy is a vessel that both have the comfort of sailing with ease and space for having fun. We choice this yacht because of the very good equipment and beautiful layout of both cockpit and salon together with the sailing ability this model provides.

This boat was never chartered. The American owner before us had a very strong and well done steel arch manufactured for the solar panels and dinghy davits, which has given our cruising experience the feel of freedom and self-supply while being on away from ports. The water-maker can run on the solar system but when the strong Yanmar motor is on it works more effective and the water system in Poppy makes you independent of external supply - if you can manage a 6 people water use, as we finally learned during our trip.

Poppy has been the perfect size for our family how wants to sail and be able to get in bays and ports without the big expense a catamaran or a big yacht requires.

We found Poppy on the web and dreamt of getting this beautiful boat as our home of freedom while we sailed the Pacific Ocean. To have a family trip on this boat has been perfect combination off comfort an sailing experience. Since Poppy is rigged so one person can sail her. Because reefing is easy and navigation screen and autopilot allows overview so even the kids can have there shifts on the longer passages."

Poppy has two double cabins with each a bathroom in connection. Both cabins can be turned into 4 with a woodwall easy to setup and take down.

She has a seagoing galley and a spacious salon. She has a comfortable and secure sit-down navigation station, with a full sized chart table that works well irrespective of the sea state. The salon is very open and comfortable with room for dinning and watching movies and as the L shaped galley, which works exceptionally well at sea or at anchor.

The layout design gives social space that includes also when cooking and allows privacy in the cabins. Beige curtains on ports and hatches allow you to block out sun on in the tropics.

There is an excellent amount of storage making the perfect base for extended voyages or simply enjoying the comforts of home on the hook.

In both cockpit and below you see how well designed her style and functionality is carried through. The interior is both beautiful and functional with its light, water resistant covers and woodwork witch together with the many windows and hatches gives a light and spacious feel.

The main salon is spacious and comfortable. The drop-leaf salon table can comfortably seat six and when folded provides easy movement and space. The table can be driven down by an electrical button control and make a base for a big double bed in front of the 26” television on the wall.

The watermaker is hidden beneath the starboard side settee and under the cabin sole.

The port-side settee has additional storage beneath which is perfect for food and other dried goods.

The galley on Poppy is a pleasure to use both on passage and at anchor. The wrap around design provides the perfect place to wedge yourself into and work in safety no matter the sea state.

The gimballed oven has four burners with pot holders, an well functional oven and can be covered with a removable counter-top. There is a propane shut-off valve safety switch in the control board.

The counter tops are white, marble effect, laminate in very good condition.

The double stainless steel sink is located on the after counter with both manual saltwater and pressure water faucets.

The well insulated refrigerator box has a door access and a top access.

The freezer box is located in the corner and can be either a freezer or refrigerator, by turn of a swich.

A well placed hatch above the sink and a smaller one at the end of the gallery provides ventilation and airflow when cooking.

The cover for the sinks and counter-top over the oven an burners provides additional workspace.
